Italian Model
This is our newest model, the first one finished in May. It’s a pattern off of an amazing 1770’s Italian bass we purchased and restored a few years back. The old bass was played by Chris Brown former bassist of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra who had purchased it years ago from a member of Detroit Symphony.
This model is as beautiful to look at as it is fun to play. The bass won Certificates for tone and workmanship at this summers ISB Convention. This instrument has a stunning Venetian violin cornered pattern with a substantial roundback and deep ribs. The bass has well thought geometry that makes the bass a breeze to play for German or French bow players. This is an extremely refined bass designed for the highest level player.
