August Gemunder 5/8 size- Springfield, MA circa 1860

Very rare 5/8 size A list bass from the mid-1800’s.  There are so few master luthier 5/8 basses from this period made for the professional bassist.  This instrument by August Gemunder is a spectacular find for those where a 3/4 is just a bit much to handle.  The bass has as much power and depth as a much larger instrument.  We restored another 5/8 bass by this maker three years ago and it sold in less than three weeks.
